Panagbenga Festival

Originally known as the Baguio Flower Festival, it was renamed "Panagbenga", meaning "a time of flowering" in one of the native languages of Benguet province. The festival weekend of the the 26th and 27th feasture a much awaited parade of floats festoones with flowers (like California's Rose Parade), and colorful street dances performed by school children clad in flower-inspired garb incorporating native woven fabrics.

The entire month of February to early March is given over to this celebration of community and local arts and culture, with various activities occurring within the city such as a band competition, concerts and local arts show.
